The Triple Crown challenge involves completing the Appalachian Trail (AT), the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), and the Continental Divide Trail (CDT).
Parks and monuments:
The CDT passes through 3 National Parks, 1 National Monument, 21 Wilderness Areas, and 25 National Forests.
Elevation gains for individual trails:
Appalachian Trail (AT): The AT has an elevation gain of over 515,000 feet (157 km).
The AT is known for its rolling terrain and direct routes over mountains.
Pacific Crest Trail (PCT): The PCT has an elevation gain of approximately 489,000 ft (149,000 km).
Continental Divide Trail (CDT): The CDT is considered by many to be the most challenging and remote of the three trails.
with an elevation gain of 457,000 feet (18,700km).
The American Long Distance Hiking Association – West (ALDHA–West) an official supporter of Hiking for Hope, is the only organization that recognizes the Triple Crown achievement.
